Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA) has given honorable recognition to outstanding designers and promotes quality design through organising design competition since 1975. In "HKDA - Asia Design Awards 2009", over 2,000 entries have been received from 36 countries of Asia-Pacific region, i.e. China, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taipei and Hong Kong etc.
After playing one of the most important roles in the design scene of Asia-Pacific region for 36 years, "HKDA - Asia Design Awards" has renamed to "HKDA - Global Design Awards" in 2011 and started accepting design entry internationally. There are four main categories - Graphic, Product, Spatial and New Media. Winning entries will be exhibited in traveling exhibitions and published in a hardbound, full-colour award annual book with worldwide distribution.
